Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library Building and Grounds – Interim Custodian (P/T)
The Part Time Interim Custodian position consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness of the facility and grounds in a friendly work environment. This employee regularly performs cleaning, and assists supervisor with daily operations as needed. The position is supervised by the Building and Grounds Specialist and Acting Executive Director.
Primary Responsibilities
Cleaning and sanitizing public, staff and high-traffic areas
Cleaning and maintaining restrooms and replenishing supplies
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and providing routine floor care
Regular dusting and removal of cobwebs
Clean windows
Assist with set up and tear down furniture such as tables & chairs for events
Emptying trash and recycling
Clean stainless-steel appliances and sinks in kitchens (as needed)
Perform other duties as assigned
Desirable Education and Experience
High School graduate or equivalent with applicable, documented work experience.
Ability to pass background, substance, and credit checks
Ability to work outdoors including in adverse weather (snow, heat, etc.)
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to pick up and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged period of time
Interact positively with co-workers and community
Part-Time, Hourly; Approx. 15 Hrs./ Week.
Rate: $16/ Hr.
Schedule to be determined based on departmental needs.
Initial six-week assignment, followed by formal review.
Following review, the organization may conclude the temporary position, extend it for an additional period, or adjust the hours based on organizational needs. Continuation beyond the initial six-week period is not guaranteed and would require administrative/ Board consideration as appropriate.
